Romantic Date Ideas in an Urban Setting
Food tours are the perfect way to try out new restaurants and learn about the history of your city while you're at it. You can find food tours in any major city, but if you're in New York City or Chicago, there are plenty of options that focus specifically on African diaspora cuisine.
If you've got some time to kill before your date arrives, head over to the theater district and catch an off-Broadway show! There are plenty of theaters around town where actors from all over the world come together to put on performances that will leave your heart racing--and maybe even make it skip a beat or two! Don't forget snacks though...theater can get pretty hungry work sometimes!
Go horseback riding.
Take a boat ride.
Have a picnic, or go on a hike and take your own food with you!
Go Surfing Surfing is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. It's also very romantic because you can spend time together in a beautiful setting, as well as learn about each other's interests and hobbies. If you don't know how to surf, there are many lessons available online or at local surf schools where you can learn from the pros!
Have a Beach Bonfire
If your date likes the outdoors as much as they do spending time with you, then having a bonfire on the beach could be perfect for them! You can roast marshmallows together while watching the sun set over the ocean--it'll make for some amazing memories that will last long after this date has ended!
Go Hiking
Have a Snowball Fight
Go Skiing
Go camping.
Go for a nature walk.
Stargazing.
Visit a Museum
Attend a Concert
Go to a Play
If you're the adventurous type, then this is the list for you. Whether it's rock climbing or sky diving, bungee jumping or skydiving, there are plenty of romantic date ideas that will keep your hearts racing and adrenaline pumping.
Go Rock Climbing: If you're looking for an activity that will get your heart pumping and put a smile on both of your faces, look no further than rock climbing! This sport is perfect if you want something fun but still challenging enough to make sure everyone has fun while doing it.
Go Skydiving: If there's one thing I know about my husband (and myself), it's that nothing makes him happier than jumping out of planes with his parachute strapped on tight! Skydiving is one of our favorite things because we get to spend time together while experiencing something new and exciting every time we go skydiving together--it doesn't get much better than that!
Picnics are a great way to spend time with your partner and they don't have to be expensive. Pack a basket full of snacks, drinks and blankets, then head out into nature for a day of fun in the sun! There are plenty of parks around town where you can enjoy beautiful scenery while eating your picnic lunch together. If you're feeling adventurous, try finding someplace new that neither one of you has been before--you'll both be surprised at how much fun it is!
Board games are a great way for couples who live together but don't see each other often enough due to work schedules or other commitments (like school) because they allow them an opportunity for quality time together without having too much pressure on either person involved in terms of conversation topics or physical intimacy since there's no expectation that anyone will do anything more than just sit down at their table with another person who shares their interests and enjoys spending time together.
